General information
GRB 260710A was detected on 2026-07-10 around 12:58:43 UT by Fermi/GBM and was later reported as independently detected by Insight-HXMT/HE and AstroSat/CZTI. The Fermi/GBM on-ground location is RA 5.6 deg, Dec -85.0 deg with 1.8 deg statistical uncertainty.
Wavelength coverage
- Gamma-ray / hard X-ray: Fermi/GBM detected and localized the burst; Insight-HXMT/HE detected it in about 60-900 keV deposited energy; AstroSat/CZTI detected it clearly in the 100-500 keV CsI veto detector and faintly in 20-200 keV CZT detectors.
No optical, radio, X-ray afterglow, neutrino, or gravitational-wave observations are mentioned.
Lightcurve and spectrum
- Fermi/GBM reports a single peak with T90 about 1.9 s in 50-300 keV.
- Fermi/GBM time-averaged spectrum from T0-0.16 to T0+1.94 s is best fit by a cutoff power law with index -0.93 +/- 0.03 and Epeak 139 +/- 3 keV.
- Fermi/GBM reports fluence of (2.17 +/- 0.09)E-06 erg/cm^2 in 10-1000 keV and 64-ms peak photon flux of 30 +/- 3 ph/s/cm^2 in 10-1000 keV.
- A Band function fits the Fermi/GBM spectrum equally well with Epeak 98 +/- 3 keV, alpha -0.71 +/- 0.02, and beta -2.00 +/- 0.07.
- Insight-HXMT/HE reports a single pulse with T90 of 1.2 +1.2/-0.4 s, 1 s peak rate of 727 counts/s, and 841 total counts.
- AstroSat/CZTI reports a peak at 2026-07-10 12:58:43.56 UTC, peak count rate 331 (+50, -55) counts/s above background in combined veto data, total counts 426 (+150, -166), and local mean background 616 (+6, -6) counts/s.

What’s special vs typical
The burst is well confirmed across three high-energy instruments and has a short or borderline-short reported duration, despite the initial Fermi real-time circular describing it as a likely long GRB.
