General information
GRB 260617A is a short gamma-ray burst detected at about 21:36:43 UT on 17 June 2026 by Fermi/GBM and subsequently reported by multiple gamma-ray instruments, including Konus-Wind, Mars-Odyssey/HEND, CALET/CGBM, and Glowbug. Fermi/GBM reported a refined on-ground position of RA = 224.34 deg, Dec = -12.61 deg with a 7.08 deg statistical uncertainty.
Wavelength coverage
- Gamma-ray: Fermi/GBM detected a likely short GRB; IPN reports detections by Fermi/GBM, Konus-Wind, and Mars-Odyssey/HEND; CALET/CGBM and Glowbug also detected the burst.
- High-energy gamma-ray spectral coverage: Konus-Wind reports emission up to about 4 MeV.
No observations are mentioned in optical, infrared, ultraviolet, X-ray, radio, gravitational waves, or neutrinos.
Lightcurve and spectrum
- Fermi/GBM: T90 about 0.14 s in 50-300 keV; time-averaged spectrum from T0-0.08 to T0+0.259 s is best fit by a cutoff power law with index -0.56 +/- 0.04 and Epeak = 700 +/- 40 keV.
- Fermi/GBM: fluence = (7.4 +/- 0.5)E-07 erg/cm^2 in 10-1000 keV; 64-ms peak photon flux = 21 +/- 1 ph/s/cm^2 in 10-1000 keV.
- CALET/CGBM: short pulse from T-0.25 s to T-0.15 s; SGM T90 = 0.09 +/- 0.02 s and T50 = 0.05 +/- 0.01 s in 40-1000 keV.
- Konus-Wind: multi-peaked pulse starting about T0-64 ms with total duration about 150 ms; emission seen up to about 4 MeV.
- Konus-Wind: fluence = 1.28(-0.16,+0.19)x10^-6 erg/cm2 and 16-ms peak flux = 1.73(-0.36,+0.38)x10^-5 erg/cm2/s in 20 keV-10 MeV.
- Konus-Wind: CPL fit over T0-0.064 s to T0+0.084 s gives alpha = -0.26(-0.32,+0.40) and Ep = 537(-85,+129) keV.
- Glowbug: adaptive-window onset at 2026-06-17 21:36:42.640, duration 0.26 s, total significance about 27 sigma, with multi-peaked emission.
