General information

GRB 260402A triggered SVOM/ECLAIRs at 2026-04-02T10:30:17 UTC and is temporally/spatially consistent with an Einstein Probe soft X-ray transient EP260402a. Einstein Probe FXT later detected an uncatalogued X-ray source consistent with the WXT localization.

X-ray (soft, wide-field): Einstein Probe/WXT detection with refined timing and spectral/flux analysis.
X-ray (follow-up/narrow-field): Einstein Probe/FXT detection with refined position and spectrum/flux; SVOM/MXT reports a faint candidate source.
Optical: Multiple facilities report non-detections with upper limits in r/z/i and VT_B/VT_R.
Near-IR: Non-detections reported in J band (WINTER; Jinshan). No radio or UV observations are mentioned.
