General information
EP260224a is an X-ray transient detected by Einstein Probe/WXT on 2026-02-24T17:03:42 UTC, localized to RA=175.200 deg, Dec=-41.415 deg (J2000) with a 3 arcmin radius uncertainty. EP/FXT performed a follow-up observation starting 2026-02-25T06:21:59 UTC (~13 hr post-trigger), and LCO subsequently reported optical non-detections.
Wavelength coverage
- X-ray: EP/WXT detected the transient; EP/FXT followed up ~13 hr later with no onboard alert generated.
- Optical: LCO 1m/SINISTRO obtained r and z imaging at ~32.4 hr and ~30.3 hr after trigger, respectively; no new source found in/at the border of the WXT error region; 3σ limits r>23.6, z>21.6 (AB, not extinction-corrected).
No observations were mentioned in gamma-ray, UV, IR, radio, gravitational waves, or neutrinos.
